K - here is the scoop after a few emails with Rich.

Rich currently has no plans nor desire to continue with the SE Tool Kit.
If folks remember, on the setoolkit.com web page he mentioned a new
concept he has which is related to a tool that run on FreeBSD, Solaris,
Linux, and MacOS X. If any developed tool comes from Rich, it will
probably be this tool which he already had working for the most part.
He has contacted a few folks to look into their interest in helping him
with this new tool.

So it sounds like SE 3.4 is the end of SE - coming from Rich. He has
made the source available and he isn't adverse to someone trying to
continue it if they so wish. He hasn't worked out the license-isms or
copyright issues just yet.

Steve Christensen will probably be updating the SE page on
sunfreeware.com with a little more information relating to SE. Rich and
he are working out what to say. Rich has acquired a Gmail account that
Steve will put on this SE page for folks who wish to contact him directly.
