Great!  I would have been happy to do this patch myself,
but Guilherme beat me to it (thanks for the that, and for
the email, Guilherme).  I wasn't sure if the autoconf 
variables had been changed on purpose or not, was all,
and I didn't want to go mucking up someone else's work
before knowing why something had been done.
