After searching this archive for Storable, I saw the <patchlevel.h>
message - seemed to fix it. I guess I should have done that before I
posted - thanks for the extremely quick reply!

The make test_modules was ok, but make install_modules failed:

# make install_modules
cd packages && make CFLAGS="-g" install_modules
cd Data-Dumper-2.101 && make OPTIMIZE="-g" install
mkdir /ots/perl50044/lib/site_perl/sun4-solaris/./auto: No such file
or directory at /ots/perl50044/lib/ExtUtils/Install.pm line 110

I went on anyway and ran make install, completed ok, did a
start_orcallator, said started.
 
However, when I go on I get:
# pwd
/opt/orca
# ./bin/orca -v lib/orcallator.cfg
Can't locate Data/Dumper.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /opt/orca/lib
/ots/perl50044/lib/sun4-solaris/5.00404 /ots/perl50044/lib
/ots/perl50044/lib/site_perl/sun4-solaris /ots/perl50044/lib/site_perl
.) at ./bin/orca line 27.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at ./bin/orca line 27.

I wonder if the fact that I am mounting perl from another system,
albeit rw, is causing this. I may have to install a copy of perl on my
workstation.... :^( I'll try to download and install these modules on
the other system first maybe.
