Well, quite a nice beta than, myself is using it for several years
now.
I've set up orca-snapshot-r480 on a Fedora Core 4 host the other
day, just to see what's new and which changes from my wish list,
based on one of the first procallator versions, I simply could
skip by using a modern version of procallator ;)
Still a major concern for me is the graphing of interface band-
with, which from my point of view is still broken.
Currently, I'm doing a "cat /dev/zero | nc azrael 9999" while on
azrael "nc -l 9999 | cat >/dev/null" is running. According to
"xnetload" on the sending server (famine), it's sending about
12500 kB/s, i. e. that what's expected on a saturated switched
100 MBit/sec port.
On the sending server, I use some other scripts to fill an rrd
which is made to plot the graphs by means of an CGI. In this
data, I see about 100 MBit/sec (actually 104.1 peak -- some
1024 vs. 1000 calculation artefact?) throughout the test.
Looking at orca on the receiving side, I see a vast amount of
time being spend on ca. 20 MBit/sec as well as peaks up to 100
MBit/sec. But this does not seem to be the case, as can be veri-
fied by the packet rate ...
Anyone else experienced this? It's getting even worse with
1 GBit/s interfaces doing serious traffic movement ...
Regards,
-kai
