I haven't heard mention of VMS on this list since I've been on it. But
that doesn't make it impossible. :)

The key to getting Orca to work with VMS is to make an 'orcallator' for
VMS. Call it .. a VMSallator. It should be simple enough--the commands
are there to query the system for such information. It's just a matter
of generating a file with the right format. Then the orcallator.cfg
file should be very similar to existing ones. There are enough
utilities available in VMS to mount NFS directories, or use "rdist" or
rcp, or even ftp, such that you could mimick the model some other folks
on this list have used for getting the off-platform orca-ready data onto
the platform where the orca process is running. This is how the
AIX-allator was done -- all it does is generate the raw text data files
for Orca to crunch over on a supported platform. It's just a perl script.

If you're looking to get orca data processing and html & image
generation running on VMS, the source code is there -- give a try at
porting it. :)
