Has anyone considered updating the rrdtool commands to create sleeker or
smoother images?

Has any work been done to create a searchable form that would generate a
graph for a specific time interval?

For example, you had data for the whole year and you wanted to graph
only June 1 - June 30.  You can already see the data for that in the
yearly view, however, this is more granular.
