[Svnmerge] svnmerge and "git svn clone"?

Does anyone have experience with importing svn repositories with
branches maintained with svnmerge into git?

Is information lost?

I guess the most important information tracked by svnmerge, as seen from
git, is that you don't merge the same revision twice...?  And (still
guessing), this isn't an issue with git, and is not important to
preserve...?
