You have any crons that kick off at 2355 or so???? Sounds like something
with logging and the rollover past midnight.

Subject: [orca-users] Orca shut down?

Hi group,

What a great peice of software this Orca is, set it up yesterday
morning, and had it apparently fully functional within less than two
hours time, or there about. Throughout the day yesterday, orca ran
fine gathering statistics, but when I came into the lab this morning,
and checked my graphs, the last time they had been updated was 23:55
(last night). Both of the Orca processes had been running:

root 18945 1 3 12:23:41 ? 0:51 /usr/local/bin/perl -
w /usr/local/bin/orca /usr/local/lib/orcallator.cfg
    root 18932 1 0 12:23:28 ?
0:01 /opt/RICHPse/bin/se.sparcv9.5.7 -
DWATCH_OS /usr/local/lib/orcallator.se

I looked at the files
in /usr/local/var/orca/rrd/orcallator/discovery and they had not
been updated since 23:55.

I killed both processes for orca and started them back again, and now
all is well (aside from missing 12hrs or so worth of data).

Anyone have any idea what might have mis-happed? If anyone needs any
more information on my setup etc, I'd be happy to provide.

I am running E220R, 256mb ram, Solaris7.
